Types of propaganda
There were many factors affecting the war effort. One of the key parts was propaganda. Propaganda was used greatly during WWII and is still used today. Propaganda during WWII included: Glittering Generalities, Testimonial, and Card stacking, name-calling, and Euphemism.
GLITTERING GENERALITIES
Often glittering generalities conjures up positive emotions instead of providing the reader with details. This type of propaganda uses vague words to make a product or an idea more appealing. The poster to the left displays an enemy soldier in his trousers with the caption, " Let's catch him with his panzers down!" Although this posters is amusing, in reality the battleships pointing at the enemy soldiers refers to Americans intension to destroy the axis powers. .

TESTIMONIALS
Testimonial is a form of propaganda that uses a respective or powerful individual to make a poster credible. The powerful individual in this poster is a women. During the war women helped in many ways including in rationing. The caption "I'm patriotic as can be- And ration points wont worry me!" shows despite the fact that women were not on the front line they still helped out.

CARD STACKING
Card stacking propaganda is a propaganda that takes immediate action meant to "bias and argument". Evidence has to be used to back it up such as statistics. The evidence usually ends up being persuasive to the other person or people. Advertising is a popular in card stacking. The information can only be positive. Sometimes card stacking can be dangerous because of it giving away so much information.

Name-Calling
Name-Calling is a negative form of propaganda. This propaganda is used to make your opponent feel discouraged or resentful towards you. Sometimes people used humor in name-calling to appeal more to the youth. During WWII this was one of the most popular uses of propaganda.
Euphemism
Euphemism uses bland words to make an unpleasant situation seem acceptable. Since war especially unpleasant, Euphemism was used a great deal. To convince men to join the war, euphemism was often used.
